How does FEAR make you ACT?

Hi Loves,

I hope you all got out to vote today. Our actions matter.

Such interesting times we are living in right now and we might be sensing some underlying fear. Yes? So what are you doing with fear? And how is it making you act?

We all have ways that fear can make us act and often not in the most conscious ways. My unbecoming personal pattern is reaching for the chocolate and nut butter and getting contracted around my child's unbecoming behavior ahem (they sure do have some resemblance to mine). Sigh....

I have been taking Tessa's phone away lately just give her a break from it without being tempted. Last night she asked for it back so she could check in with her friends and I said yes, but only if she would do a little co-listening with me. This is an exercise I love and often teach. Each person gets 2 minutes to share while the other just holds space. Then the next person shares. I usually do it until each person gets at least 3 times to share. There is always the option to be silent. But it is not really a conversation. It's more what wants to come out. It really is a gift in that you get to feel heard without the other person trying to fix or even affirm you AND you also get to practice listening with your whole being. Last night I gave voice to the fears I have for Tessa even though they are not rational, but those thoughts are still there. And it's in the space those silly even crazy thoughts that are given a voice get held and healed. Tessa often ends up on top of me in some kind of cuddle. Last night she was kissing my nose and telling me she loved me. I love when we come back to the heart.

So this is why I believe in Sangha (Conscious Community). It's in conscious community where we hold space for each other that we often experience great healing. I think of every yoga class as a little gathering of community, but it's always the communities that have committed to being with each other that the deeper healing happens. I have witnessed it over and over in the groups I have brought together. Ben(the man with the BIG heart in the picture) and I are super excited for this next group of men that are coming together for tomorrow night. We love that we have some coming back for another 6 Weeks. If any men out there are interested in checking out the first night but not quite sure you want to commit, you are welcome to come just pay for the first session for $40. First night theme is Commitment. Sign up at www.tahoeyoga.com.

I hope you all are taking care of yourself and being with the fears that are popping up in some sort of gentle way. Maybe try a little co-listening?

Love to you all!

Namaste,

Shari
