What are you Watching?

Hi Loves,

How you BE? I hope that with all the life that is swirling around right now you are getting time to just BE. BE with the life that is right here, maybe right on your couch. I know some of you are scrambling trying to make things ok in this new "normal" and quickly changing world. Bless you and thank you. I am loving watching the creativity move through. But when I drop in I keep getting these messages:

Move Slow
Sit More
No Hurry

In fact, I've started to hear this deep rumble that sounds like a rotation. At first I thought it was some kind of fan? But I can't find it. Then I thought it was the big machinery construction a half mile away at the Raley's project, but nothing is running now. I've asked Ben if he hears it,  and, nope. So, I've decided I am hearing the earth rotating in it's orbit and it's really really slow. And then my mind has to chime in with the opening music of the soap opera, "As the World Turns", ha! I actually never watched that one, but I know I would see the opening so it must have come after the soap opera that I did watch, "Days of Our Lives." Hilarious. I watched a ton of TV as a kid. Until 6 weeks ago, I hadn't had a TV for probably 4 years. When Tessa, Ben and I wanted to watch a movie we would huddle around my computer with some popcorn and after the popcorn was consumed I would usually fall asleep. I got the family a TV for Valentine's Day so we could watch movies like the rest of the world. I still fall asleep if I am not up folding laundry or rolling around on my yoga mat. Action and violence puts me right to sleep. Comedies sometimes keep me awake. If there is some sort of heart connection it usually keeps me awake and I am not talking romance. Did you ever think we would actually be encouraged to stay home and watch more movies for our health? It's funny isn't it? I just wonder what is going on in the entertainment industry right now and how creativity is wanting to burst out. So, since I know a lot of you are probably watching TV, please pass on what you think might keep me awake. I find I am not interested in drama that much anymore. I had that realization about 2 years into my daily sitting practice. I was incredibly addicted to the drama swirling around in my mind, believing what I thought, and then reacting to it. What an epic movie I was constantly making! Once I woke up to that, life seemed boring otherwise, but I soon found boring was absolutely extraordinary.  Most people would think a week of silent meditation would be incredibly boring, I have yet to find it that way.

So, back to entertainment. It's fun to be entertained, but we also use it to distract ourselves from what we are really feeling. And aren't we all feeling so much right now? AND it is not a problem, these feelings are meant to be felt. I am amazed to watch the multitude of thoughts, feelings, sensations that are moving through daily. A year ago I had my first, and only, experience of binge watching. I haven't started another series because I found binge watching to be a real thing. There was no sleeping for me once I started the series "Dead to Me". I thought the show's writers did a great job of addressing all the ways we go Dead to ourselves. (Please, someone let me know if another season comes out) :) We also watched "The Two Popes", movie.  I loved the forgiveness of self in that one. And, "Jo Jo Rabbit" is probably one of my most favorite movies of all time. The characters were incredible and I loved the level of consciousness of the mother. How free she was in the time of Nazi Germany.

So I am curious, "As the World Turns"; what is awakening in you and as you experience "The Days of (Y)Our Lives", and what makes you go to sleep? Are you finding yourself making different choices? Take a moment to sit with these questions and feel free to entertain me with your answers. :)

I have been delighted to be able to keep the groups I had started thru Zoom. The men Ben and I are working with are awesome. I learn so much each time we meet and it seems like the guys are appreciating it too; whether it's the movement, the meditation, or the conscious company. It really is an honor for me to have this little window to understand men more. They truly are tremendous. We have decided since it doesn't seem we will be traveling anytime soon that we would like to hold another 6 Week Series of Yoga and Meditation for Men. Right from our living room to your personal space. We are keeping it to an intimate size, so we can see and connect with each other in our Zoom Room. Men let us know if you want to sign up and Ladies please pass this on to any Men you may know that could benefit from connecting with other men in conscious company.

Well loves all I can say is that we humans are strong, resilient, adaptable. I am kind of in awe of all the beauty I am witnessing and it is often bringing tears to my eyes.

I love all our awakening hearts!

Sending so much love.

Namaste,
Shari
